Convocation

Convocation is the annual event in educational institutions, generally, colleges and universities, where students are felicitated for completing a degree or course. Generally, it is conducted after a student passes out from the college, and after the results are declared, the colleges call them specifically for convocations. In some places, it is also called the graduation ceremony.

In convocations, colleges try to invite some special guests to grace the event with their presence and encourage passed out students to make a better future for the society and name of the college in the world. While the Chancellor, Vice-Chancellor, and deans from various branches are present at the event, many colleges also invite parents of the students to the part of the ceremony.

The events in some colleges are conducted by fellow students only, fostering alumni relations with colleges. As the current trend of social media continues, students from any part try to attend the function to meet their college mates and teachers and relive the memories. In the same event, colleges felicitate top-performing students from different branches or students who have performed extraordinarily in other domains of life as well.
