Experiential Learning and Its Principles

Experiential learning is a unique process whereby students learn by doing and reflecting on their experiences. In simpler words, experiential learning engages students in a hands-on experience where they connect better with knowledge and theories in the classroom to real-world situations. This type of learning includes internships, laboratory experiments, study abroad, field exercises, undergraduate research, studio performances, etc.

Supervised, well-planned, and assessed experiential learning can encourage academic inquiry by elevating civic engagement, interdisciplinary learning, cultural awareness, career development, leadership, and other intellectual and professional skills.
