Roll Number

A roll number is a one-of-a-kind identifier that can be issued to a student during or after registration. This number is unique to each student in the class, giving them a distinct identity. In assignments, teachers cannot assign the same number to two students.

You can assign a similar beginning to all student roll numbers in each batch to avoid students from different batches having the same roll number. The prefix might assist you in determining a student’s course and batch.

You must decide how students will be grouped in your institution before giving roll numbers. Students can be sorted based on their admission number, first name, or last name. The first step after sorting the students is to assign a course prefix. A course’s prefix is automatically added to all batches within that course. Each batch’s students were also affected. You can modify the roll number prefix for each batch of a course if you don’t want it to be the same for all of them. Although two distinct courses or batches might have the same roll number prefix, we prefer that each course and batch have its own prefix to avoid any misunderstanding. Students’ roll number prefixes cannot be changed individually.
