CAD Full Form is Computer-Aided Design. Computer-aided design is the use of computers (or workstations) to assist in the creation, analysis, optimization, or modification of a design. This software is used for the following reasons:
- Improve the productivity of the designer
- Improve the quality of the design
- Student Communication through documentation
- Create a database for manufacturing
Designs made with CAD are helpful in protecting products and inventions when it is used in patent applications. The output of the CAD software is often in the form of electronic files that can be printed, machined, or used in other manufacturing operations. The terms computer-aided drafting (CAD) and computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) are also used.
The use of CAD to design electronic systems is known as electronic design automation (EDA). On the subject of machine design, it is known as mechanical design automation (MDA), which includes the process of creating a technical drawing by making use of computer software
