National Science Day is celebrated on 28th February yearly to commemorate the discovery of the RAMAN EFFECT by Indian physicist Sir C.V. Raman. The National Council recommended the day for Science and Technology Communication (NCSTC) by the government of India. This day was first celebrated in 1987, and since then, the event has been celebrated across many educational institutions, i.e., School Analytics, universities, colleges, etc. Also, the day is dedicated to bolstering the importance of science, medical, and research institutions across India. Since 1999, various themes are also designated for National Science Day. For instance, in 1999, ‘Our Altering Earth’ was the first theme; in 2020, ‘Women in Science was the decided theme.
Objectives of National Science Day
National Science Day is celebrated yearly to spread the message of the significance of science and medical applications in our daily lives.
· To discuss the problems or issues and implement new technologies to eliminate the problems with the development of science.
· To display the efforts, activities, and achievements in the field of science for human welfare
· To encourage people to realize the importance of science and technology in our lives
· To allow scientific-minded people to contribute to the country’s science.
