Dimension

In mathematics and physics, a dimension refers to a measurable extent or parameter used to define the size, shape, or quantity of an object or space. It represents an independent direction along which something can vary or be measured. For instance, in three-dimensional space, objects have length, width, and height as their three dimensions. In physics, dimensions can represent fundamental physical quantities like time, mass, length, electric charge, etc., which serve as building blocks for describing various phenomena. Dimensions can also refer to abstract concepts, such as the number of variables required to specify a point in a space, leading to discussions about the dimensionality of spaces, surfaces, or mathematical structures.
