NIEPA Full form

The National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA) is established by the Ministry of Human Resource Department, Government of India. It is a premier organization that deals with the building and research in the management and planning of education in India and South Asia.

The recognition of the excellent work done by the organization in the field of educational administration and planning has influenced it to award its own degrees by conferring the status of Deemed to be University in 2006. Similar to any Central University, Digital Content, NIEPA is also a fully maintained university by the Government of India.

The National Institute’s origin dates back to 1962 when UNESCO established the Asian Regional Centre for Educational Administrators and Planners. Later, it was converted into the Asian Institute of Educational Planning and Administration in 1965. After 4 years, it was undertaken by the Government of India and was renamed the National Staff College for Educational Planners and Administrators. Likewise, as the roles and functions of the National Staff College increased, especially in research and professional support services to government, and capacity building, it was again renamed the National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA) in 1979.
