Field Strength

Field strength is a quantitative measure of the intensity of a field, describing the force or influence it exerts on objects within its scope. In electromagnetism, electric field strength signifies the force experienced by charged particles in an electric field, measured in volts per meter (V/m). Similarly, magnetic field strength denotes the intensity of a magnetic field, measured in amperes per meter (A/m), indicating the force experienced by a unit magnetic pole. In telecommunications, particularly in radio communications, RF field strength measures the intensity of an electromagnetic field, often in volts per meter (V/m) or decibels relative to a reference. Understanding field strength is essential in assessing the impact and effectiveness of fields in diverse scientific and engineering applications.
