Junior college

A “Junior College” is a type of post-secondary institution that provides students with the opportunity to earn an associate’s degree or transfer to a four-year college or university. Junior colleges typically offer two-year programs in a variety of fields, including arts and sciences, business, and technical trades. The curriculum at a junior college is designed to prepare students for transfer to a four-year institution, or to provide them with the skills and training needed for a specific career.

Junior colleges are often less expensive than four-year colleges, and provide a more flexible and accessible option for students who are unsure about their educational and career goals, or who need additional time to prepare for a four-year program and Learning Management System. Some junior colleges also offer support services, such as tutoring, counseling, and career services, to help students succeed in their academic and professional pursuits. The goal of a junior college education is to provide students with the foundation they need to succeed in their future studies or careers.
