Master of design, also known as M.Des, is a postgraduate degree program for 2 years. Aspirants generally pursue this program with a deep interest in the artistic field and want to achieve great knowledge in the design field. This course’s eligibility criteria is that candidates must have a qualifying degree in architecture, design, fine arts, interior design, or any other stream with a minimum of 50% from a recognized university. The average annual fees of this course range from INR 1 to 3 lakhs and the syllabus is divided into 4 semesters. The subjects under this program consist of Introduction to Industry Practices, Industry-guided project proposal, sustainable systems, brand communication, craft studies, etc. M.Des admission is based on the entrance examination. To obtain admission to one of the M.Des colleges, candidates must clear the entrance exam and the personal interview round to start the admission process. Also, candidates must pursue jobs in either government or private jobs. A candidate with a graduated course can work in various industries such as media, craft, textile, Digital Content, fashion, design, lifestyle products, etc.
