B.Ed From IGNOU

Indira Gandhi National Open University’s B.Ed Entrance Test is an all-India level entrance exam (IGNOU). For IGNOU admissions to the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) program, the test is administered offline. Thousands of candidates take the IGNOU B.Ed Entrance Test each year. In 2018, a total of 18,283 candidates took the teaching entrance exam.

The IGNOU B.Ed course must be completed within two years. Candidates, however, are permitted to complete the course for a maximum of five years. The IGNOU B.Ed program uses English and Hindi as its medium of instruction. It should be noted that the IGNOU B.Ed exam was previously administered by the National Testing Agency (NTA). 

Candidates must have at least 50% in their graduation or post-graduate studies in Science/Social Science/Commerce/Humanities. BE (Bachelor of Engineering)/BTech (Bachelor of Technology) candidates with Science, Admission Management, and Mathematics specializations and 55% aggregate marks are also eligible to apply for the exam. Candidates must fall into one of the following categories:

  • In-service elementary teachers were trained.
  • Completion of a face-to-face NCTE-recognized teacher education program.
