The CSIR NET is a national level examination conducted in India by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). The test is conducted for determining eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and eligibility for Lectureship (LS) in Indian universities, School Analytics and colleges.
The examination is conducted twice a year and covers subjects such as Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, and Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences.
Eligible candidates who qualify the examination are considered for Junior Research Fellowship and can pursue research in various CSIR laboratories and institutes. Those who are not selected for the JRF but have qualified the exam are eligible to apply for the post of a lecturer in colleges and universities.
