Competitive examinations are the central exams that are held annually, and millions of students participate in them. JEE, NEET, NDA, UPSC, CAT, etc are regarded as the highest competition examinations in India. There are more than 25 competitive examinations for government jobs. The chief aim of competitive exams is to achieve suitable and merit candidates from the society of India for particular disciplines.
Competitive exams are very hard, with numerous candidates appearing for a restricted number of seats. Competitive Exams in India mainly comprise insurance examinations, bank tests, defence examinations, railway examinations, staff selection commission examinations, research examinations, UGC examinations, and UPSC examinations. The UPSC conducts these examinations annually for entrance into the monetary services, central government services, combined Medical and Engineering services, and the Indian Forests services. For Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and OBC students no reservation is permissible in the UPSC-conducted defence service exam-CDS and NDA tests. Competitive exams are considered a fair way of selecting candidates without the impact of influence and favouritism.
