Human Resource Development in education plays an important role in balancing the country’s socioeconomic fabric. As the citizens of India are the most valuable resource, the nation’s needs are nurtured and cared for in the most respected manner in the form of basic education to achieve a better quality of life. In pursuing this mission, the Ministry of Human Resource Development was established on September 26, 1985, with the help of the 174th amendment to the Government of India Rules, 1961. Presently, the MHRD works under two departments-
· Department of Higher Education
· Department of School Education & Literacy
The department of school education and literacy is responsible for boosting school education and literacy in the country; the department of higher education looks after the largest Higher Education systems in the world, after the US and China. The department aims to ‘universalize education and make better citizens through education. For this, various initiatives and schemes were introduced and are regularly taken up. The main objective of the Ministry is-
· Formulating the National Policy on Education and ensuring that it is effective in letter and spirit
· Paying attention to disadvantaged people like females, the poor, and the minorities
· Providing financial assistance in the form of loan subsidies, scholarships, etc., to deserving students from the backward region of the society learn more about School Management System.
