Bihar TET Meaning

Bihar TET stands for Bihar Teacher Eligibility Test. It is conducted by the Bihar school examination board, where students who aspire to work as teachers, especially in elementary school or primary school teachers for the Government schools in Bihar, can appear in this examination. 

The examination is conducted in the morning and evening slots. Examination looks forward to choosing among the graduate teachers who want to make a career in the elementary level of teaching.

It is conducted on basic levels- the first paper is for classes 1 to 5, and the second paper is for classes 6 to 7. The examination is conducted in offline mode and is of multiple-choice questions, and there are 150 questions for which a total of 2.5 hours is allotted. 

The result is provided in the form of a certificate which the teachers can use to obtain the jobs. The certificate provided is valid for seven years from the date of the declaration of the examination result.

Bihar TET is expected to start the application process in September 2022, and the same will be notified by the Department of school education, Bihar. Reservation to SC/ST and OBC candidates is provided in the exam. 

Candidates eligible for this examination need to have a minimum of 21 years and a maximum of 35 years. However, the reservation is provided to SC/ST and OBC candidates. The relaxation for SC/S, OBC, and female candidates is 5%, depending on the criteria set by the competent authority. Candidates who have a domicile in Bihar can only apply for the examination.
