CHS BHU Full Form

Central Hindu School, or CHS, is the epicentre of the educational marvel Banaras Hindu University (BHU). It was earlier known as Central Hindu College. Being one of the oldest institutes in India- BHU boasts of the historical developments it has witnessed in education. The CHS was founded in 1898 by the founder of the Theosophical Society and freedom struggle leader Annie Besant. Later on, she handed over the administration of CHS to Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya, who took responsibility for CHS along with BHU.

Central Hindu School is located in Kamachha of Varanasi. CHS is affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), and Banaras Hindu University handles its administration. CHS also houses one of the most historical libraries in India- Kashinath Traimbak Telang Library, which has a collection of more than 30,000 valuable books like novels, encyclopaedias, and other old books.

Its campus is spread over 70 acres providing various amenities like a gym, sports complex, libraries, laboratories, hostel facilities with 24 x7 electricity supply, academic centres, and much more.
