Joint Seat Allocation Authority: An Overview

The joint Seat Allocation  Authority was set up by the Ministry of Education in 2018 to manage and regulate the joint seat allocation for admissions to 114 institutes for the academic year 2022-23 , which includes 23 IITs,31NITs, IIEST Shibpur,26 IIITs and 33 other GFTIs (government-funded technical institutions).

Admissions to all the academic programs offered by these institutions will be made through a single platform for the convenience of the candidates. JOSAA is headed by Abhay Karandikar..

As per the schedule issued by IIT Mumbai, The JEE Advanced 2022 counselling registration process will most likely begin from September 12 onwards. The official schedule for JOSAA Counseling will be released after JEE Advanced.JOSAA Counseling 2022 will be held for candidates who qualified for the JEE Main exam and the JEE Advanced exam for admissions into IIT, NIT,IIIT, CFTI’s and IIEST Shibpur

The seats in the JOSAA participating institutes are offered on the basis of merit and preference of courses and colleges filled by the candidate during the counselling process. Candidates who are allotted seats have to undergo various steps such as acceptance of seats by paying the fee, downloading allotment letter, verification of documents etc.

JOSAA Counselling 2022 will be conducted in a centralised online mode in six rounds.
