The National Council of Educational Research and Training, or NCERT is an autonomous government organization. It was established in the year 1961. It was founded to work as a literary, scientific, and charitable society under the Societies Registration Act. The headquarters of this organization is on Sri Aurbindo Marg in New Delhi. Roshan has been holding the council’s Director position since 2022.

The primary goals of NCERT are to conduct, promote, and coordinate research in school education-related areas. They prepare and publish textbooks, Admission Management, significant sources, newsletters, and journals, and develop educational kits, multimedia digital materials, and so on. They organize pre-service and in-service teacher training. They even help develop and disseminate innovative educational practices, collaborate and network with state educational departments, universities, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and other educational institutions; act as a clearing house for ideas and information in school education-related matters. NCERT provides textbooks for students from classes 1 to 12 and even e-books as well.
