Qualification for teaching jobs

A teacher’s role in shaping one’s career and teaching them good values is one of the most important ones in the world. Teachers in India are required to hold a bachelor’s degree in education (B.Ed). One may also pursue a master’s degree within the same (M.Ed) to enhance their qualification and extend their employability.

Apart from this, candidates may also choose a military training certificate (BTC) Diploma in Education (D.Ed), or Teaching Training Certificate, depending upon one’s interest. Candidates who have an interest in government jobs through the Central Board of instruction can even appear for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET). CBSE conducts this exam for the appointment as a coach for classes 1st to 8th.

  1. To become an educator, a candidate must hold a B.Ed degree (Bachelor’s of Education) with a minimum of 55%. Each school may have its own pass percentage requirement.
