Energy transfer refers to the movement of energy from one system or object to another. It occurs when energy is converted or transmitted from its original form to another, such as from kinetic to potential, thermal to mechanical, or electrical to light energy. This process obeys the law of conservation of energy, stating that energy cannot be created or destroyed but can change its form. For instance, when a ball is thrown, kinetic energy from the thrower’s muscles is transferred to the ball, making it move. Similarly, in a battery, chemical energy transforms into electrical energy. Understanding energy transfer is crucial in various fields, from physics and engineering to everyday applications like powering devices, transportation, and sustaining life processes.
