Board of Secondary Education Odisha

The Board of Secondary Education, Odisha (abbreviated BSE) is the state education board for public and private schools in Odisha, India. The BSE was established by the Odisha Education Act of 1953. The board is in charge of overseeing and maintaining all secondary education in the state of Odisha. Numerous courses are provided to students under this board to prepare them for various occupations and to prepare them for university. 

The Board is responsible for the following functions, which are primarily related to Secondary Education for Classes IX and X:

  1. Syllabus and course of study preparation
  2. Textbook preparation, printing, publication, and sale
  3. Conduct various examinations, publication of results, Admission Management, and award certificates to successful candidates
  4. Organizing orientation programs and refresher courses for in-service teachers on instructional methods and the context of various school subjects.
  5. Affiliation of institutions with the goal of admitting them to the Board’s privileges, including examinations conducted by it.
  6. The Board provides education through a correspondence course for dropouts and failed students who want to sit for the H.S.C Examination directly administered by the Board.
