Junior School  In India

Junior School in India includes the pre-primary and the primary stage of education. The junior school runs for students aged from three to twelve years of age. All the government and private schools follow this pattern. Most government schools provide free of cost education to their students.

Earlier education was a state subject but after the constitutional amendment of 1976, the education policies are suggested by a govt agency, but the state governments have the freedom to implement them or not. NCERT is the national organization which develops the education framework and gives recommendations to state-run SCERT to implement those.

Pre-Primary Stage: In this, the child learns through the play method and prepares for the transition to junior School Analytics. In this stage, the focus is on the holistic development of the child and less academic pressure is given to the children. The Pre Primary Stage has Nursery, LKG and UKG and the ages of the children are from 3 to 5 years.

Junior School: In this stage, formal education of the children starts and children are presented with the full-fledged academic syllabus. This starts from classes 1 to 5 and the ages of the children are from 6 to 11 years. The syllabus is in accordance with CBSE or ICSE state-run boards. The children have regular assessments and proper formal education is imparted according to the guidelines of the respective boards.
