What is the full form of SCERT?

SCERT is the Educational Research and Training Council of the State Council. As an autonomous agency of the Government of India, SCERT deals with school education and academic work such as curriculum development, preparation of textbooks, teachers’ manuals and teacher training. It advises the government on matters related to school education.

SCERT office is located in Delhi. The National Council appoints SCERT for Teacher Education, responsible for curriculum implementation, development, registration, examinations, management, etc. It also manages and ensures the efficient functioning of Delhi’s nine DIETS (District Education and Training Institutes). SCERT has made significant contributions in the field of school education, especially in teacher education. In addition to the 9 DIETs, it also collaborates with 21 recognized private institutions offering a two-year full-time diploma in basic teacher education. It also operates 30 recognized private institutions offering a two-year full-time diploma in early childhood care and education. Annual enrollment is 4,150.
